Current Work

Following her work at Winchester School of Art Jane has used the experience gained there to inform her work. Currently the bulk of her work is painting.

She has undertaken architectural studies of towns: Bath and Venice producing a series of paintings in collage and acrylic. These series attempt to capture the atmosphere and sensual experience of individual places without a purely representational approach, light and colour being of utmost importance.

Other interests cover the usual gambit of painting: landscape still life and particularly portraiture. The last is not by commission but of subjects which interest her: close friends and family, frequently in the style of other famous painters.

She has recently been involved with painting the backdrop for a 1930s evening at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club at Gins, Beaulieu.

Exhibitions

Jane has exhibited at the RWA Autumn Exhibition, the City of Southampton Open, the Black Swan Arts, Frome, the St Barbe Summer Exhibitions, Lymington, the Royal Bath and West Show, the Best of Hampshire Artists at Hillier Gardens, Romsey, Mall Galleries, London and The Bath Prize.
